CCCC Junior Program (aged 8, U11 to aged 16, U17)
Our QuadC Novice program and Junior Development Squad program are designed to provide a fun environment for our youngest riders to learn to ride. Through skill-based activities they will gain confidence in handling their bikes and become competent racers. All new juniors will start in our QuadC Novice program with more experienced riders given the opportunity to our Junior Development Squad.
QuadC training sessions, held Thursday evenings at Packer Park Velodrome, 118 Leila Rd Carnegie, cater for beginners of all ages from 8 to 16 years of age. We also hold junior race clinics between October and March as part of our Criterium racing on Sunday mornings. These are held at Glenvale Crescent, Mulgrave. See our events page for details.Training sessions are conducted during each school term.
If you are looking for something for the more experienced junior, our Junior Development Squad maybe for you. Two weekly sessions cater to the junior looking to compete against their peers. Sessions are held Wednesday evening at Darebin International Sports Centre in Darebin and Monday evenings Packer Park. These sessions are by invitation.
The junior program uses Stack Teamapp to keep everyone up to date with training and racing information and updates.
To join in any club training or racing events all participants must hold an age appropriate Auscycling Race All Discipline Membership https://auscycling.org.au/become-a-member/race-all-discipline-membership
Auscycling also provide a 4 week free trial for all new members https://auscycling.org.au/become-a-member/free-trial (please select “VIC” and “Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Club” when setting up your trial membership) on expiry a Race All Disciplines membership needs to be purchased
Parent Involvement
The nature of cycling requires that parents/carers will need to be present during our training, coaching and racing activities. All parents/carers present at training and/or racing events must have a valid Working With Children Check with the Club noted as a volunteer organisation.
